Stonefly Outfitters - Montana's Last Best Flyshop
Here at the Stonefly, it's always been about people. We are not inventing anything new by adding the "Last Best Flyshop". Instead we are paying closer attention to details, making sure you have the best gear available during your Montana Fly Fishing Vacation. Because our guide staff has selected the gear for the shop, you won't get sold any item that you won't find useful. When it comes to Montana Fly Fishing, Stonefly Outfitters has all the bases covered. With gear from Simms, Hatch Reels, Scott Fly Rods and custom flies from the best tiers in Montana - what else could you need?

Willy and I spent some time flyfishing the Beaverhead River this fall with the folks from Simms. Turns out Willy is the photogenic one in the family....Check out their new catalog online. Shoot us an email if you are interested in any of their new products, or have any questions about them.
08.21.2010 - The Chernobyl Hatch, finally.
Montana Fly Fishing Report - live from Twin Bridges.
Mother Nature has finally put the kabosh on the afternoon thunder storms, at least for the time being. Finally, the afternoons are heating up, the southwest breezes are pushing varoius terrestrials in the river, and the fish are looking up for them.
We still have higher than average flows in all of our rivers, so at this time, it looks like the fishing over the next few weeks will be pretty steady. The early mornings might not be the most productive, but the afternoons will make up for it.
Thanks for reading, more later - we are off to the river.

Emily and Tyler Cote sent us this thank you....
"We just want to say thanks for the incredible week we spent with you guys in Twin. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. Your guides, staff, food, accommodations, location and of course the fishing were all just incredible. Like I told Emily that day we were out on the spring creek, you guys gave us the chance to catch (and blow!) more big trout in one day than I have in all of my combined experiences as an angler. We were little nervous when we flew into Bozeman and saw high water everywhere, but you guys consistently put us on to fish and had a plan to work around what mother nature was dealing out after weeks of epic rain. As this was our first real destination fishing trip, we don't have a lot of experience to measure against - but I've got to say the bar has been set pretty high.
We already miss Montana and the crew at the Stonefly Inn and can't wait to get back. Next time we will try to recruit some friends to go along and we will absolutely spread the good word on our end. I learned a lot of really cool stuff and I count the whole thing as being right up there with one of the best experiences of my life. Thanks Rooster!
